Snowmobiling in Clinton
Greetings Snowmobile Riders:
These maps are free of charge at: Clinton Town Office, TCT Club House, Tradewinds I-95 Store
Another snowmobile season is upon us. Have fun riding and enjoying Clinton's 38.7 miles of trails. The Town and Country Trail Riders Snowmobile Club grooms with 4 X 4 tracked wheel groomer conversions; two Ford Ranger pickups and an Explorer SUV on these trails. A Polaris snowmobile unit grooms difficult rutted trail segments.
Yearly, various bridges are repaired with new decking and support beams. Trails are evaluated and moved by request of landowners and for rider safety. Please follow the trail signage and stay on the trail.
The Central Maine Power line North of the Club House at Mutton Lane is open to Johnson Flat Road and Pittsfield North. The trail begins at the Mutton Lane of the old Hillman property (now CMP), east across the field to the new pole lines. The route starts center of the two rows of power lines. Snowmobiles are prohibited to ride between the power poles for safety concerns.
There is a connection to the old Lead Line from the TCT Club House Road. Follow south down over the Mutton Lane I-95 bridge then left through posted staked driveway to the Lead Line which connects right to Benton. This Benton South route AVOIDS the water underpass at I-95.
CHANGED TRAIL to BENTON: South on CMP line Hill Road from water district pump station to Tradewinds store along Hinckley Road. Across from Tradewinds (store, coffee shop, gas) to new trail to Benton CMP south.

I do hope the active members received as much in fellowship and enjoyment to compensate for the time given in keeping everything functioning.
The Town of Clinton returns a portion of your sled registration cost to the T & C Trail Riders Club for the purpose of maintaining the public snowmobile trails. Please register your snowmobiles and become a Club family member.
The Town and Country Trail Riders $25. family membership receive a Maine Snowmobile Association monthly newspaper. Landowners who give Town and Country Trailriders / Maine Snowmobile Association TRAIL PERMISSION are granted a no fault liability coverage protection free of charge. Snow trails conditions are found on the at www.mesnow.com Maine Snowmobile Assn.
T and C Trail Riders annually sponsor the Nancy Locke (in memory) horse class 7 trophy.
We donate $100 yearly to Pine Tree Camp or Camp CaPelIa for individuals with disabilities.
Please respect all land owners wishes while riding. Snowmobilers in Maine are the guests of landowners who allow access. 'It is every snowmobiler's responsibility to protect this access by following trail signage, staying on marked trails, maintaining safe speeds and staying to the right on all curves and hills. Please report unsafe trail crossings.
