Fire Department

Clinton Fire Department is responsible for providing fire suppression, fire prevention, advanced life support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) emergency medical treatment and transport, and medical transfers of patients.

The Clinton Fire Department is combination fire department, consisting of full-time, part-time, and per diem employees. The department currently employs three full time firefighter/EMTs, that work a rotating 48 hour per week schedule. This schedule is also supplemented with per diem employees, Monday through Friday and one weekend day per week. Currently the department has a part-time roster of 24 members. These members are trained to be both firefighters and/or EMTs.

The department operates two ALS ambulances that are responsible for transporting patients to and from hospitals. Both ambulances are stocked with the most up-to-date technology and equipment to allow us to provide the best possible patient care. We have two personnel on one ambulance all of the time and cover the second ambulance on an as-needed basis with part-time employees. While operating both ambulances, the fire department generates around $130,000 per year in revenue.
